The story: With his secret identity revealed, Peter Parker seeks the help of Doctor Strange to cast a spell that will make everyone forget that he is Spider-Man.

The verdict: With rumours rife on casting and fans eager to see the inception of the multiverse, No Way Home has felt a long time coming. Finally, much like Spidey making his way across the New York skyline, the film has come swinging full pelt into cinemas and it does not disappoint.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has always felt like it’s for the fans, but No Way Home undoubtedly takes top place as the ultimate Marvel fan film. This film is a real treat for Spider-Man fans and frankly there is an argument to be made that No Way Home is the greatest Spider-Man film of all time.

MCU action is always top notch and No Way Home is no different. There are some absolutely awesome sequences in this - No Way Home demands to be seen on the biggest screen possible.

The performances are also good. Tom Holland has more than proved himself as the perfect Spidey but, No Way Home really allows him to explore a much more emotional side of Spider-Man, which he does really well. The ensemble cast in this is really great and Holland has great chemistry with everyone he shares the screen with.

No Way Home is action-packed, funny and heartbreaking. Even more than that, it is extremely cathartic, providing not only the perfect end to the Home trilogy but also canonising other aspects of the MCU that will greatly please fans.

No Way Home has been criticised as being fan service. However, as the 27th film in the MCU, surely that’s exactly what this film should be? No Way Home is not perfect in every aspect. It is a little bit messy to start with as it tries to bring together the events of the previous film, as well as introduce new elements. There is also an argument to be made that No Way Home threatens to alienate some audiences as it really relies on knowledge of previous events and characters. This is often the case for the MCU, however this is definitely elevated in No Way Home.

All that aside, and in spite of any flaws, it can’t be denied that No Way Home is a film that you watch with the biggest grin on your face. Throughout, No Way Home is highly engaging, entertaining and is just so much fun. It’s also one of the ‘big’ MCU films. Remember that moment in Endgame when audiences cheered? No Way Home has its own moment where you may very well find yourself whooping.

Sometimes a film isn’t perfect, but the way that it makes you feel is, and No Way Home will make you feel pretty darn great.

The rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
